4.02.2016: French mainland and Corsica were home to grid-connected PV systems with a cumulative installed capacity of 6,191 MW as of the end of 2015, according to the latest statistics from French electricity transmission system operator RTE. This capacity represents 4.6% of French mainland’s total generation capacity. Power production from PV installations grew 25.1% from 5.9 TWh in 2014 to 7.4 TWh in 2015. The statistics, which do not include the PV power installed in France’s overseas territories, also reveal that mainland France and Corsica installed 895 MW of new PV systems last year, slightly down from 931 MW in 2014. © PHOTON
